2025 Photography Workshop

As a photographer, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and helping others refine their craft. On January 31, 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to lead an exclusive workshop at the Soho Room, where I guided photographers through the art of capturing stunning engagement and wedding photos that truly tell a story.

The first half of the workshop focused on theory, where I shared practical insights and strategies that I’ve developed over the years. We covered:

  • How to gather pre-session details to tailor photoshoots to each couple’s unique love story
  • Strategies for getting featured in luxury wedding magazines
  • How to work effectively with engagement and wedding clients to ensure smooth, successful sessions
  • Must-have photography equipment for capturing timeless wedding moments
  • Managing challenging lighting conditions, from harsh sunlight to low-light environments
  • Creating dynamic and visually captivating compositions in couple photography
  • Guiding couples to achieve natural, authentic moments in front of the camera

I was thrilled to see how engaged everyone was, asking thoughtful questions and absorbing the techniques I use to create compelling, storytelling-driven images. My goal was to provide actionable takeaways that each attendee could apply to their own work immediately.

The second half of the workshop was all about practical application. I brought in a real couple to model for us, allowing participants to put their new knowledge into practice.

During this session, I coached them through:

  • Directing and guiding couples for effortless, emotive poses
  • Managing lighting challenges in a live setting
  • Composing breathtaking shots that truly capture a couple’s connection

Seeing my attendees gain confidence in real-time was incredibly rewarding. I provided feedback as they worked, helping them fine-tune their approaches and discover new ways to bring out authentic moments in their photography.

To make the experience even more valuable, I offered attendees the chance to create unique Valentine's Day content to add to their portfolios. Additionally, they received a discount on their next booking at ICON Studio Space—an opportunity to continue honing their craft in a professional setting.

This workshop was an absolute joy to lead. Watching photographers refine their skills, gain new perspectives, and leave feeling inspired was exactly what I had hoped for. If you’re looking to elevate your engagement and wedding photography, keep an eye out for my future workshops—I’d love to help you take your work to the next level!

Meghan & Patrick's Dream Wedding at The Pearle Hotel

Meghan & Patrick’s Dream Wedding at The Pearle Hotel

As a photographer, I always feel incredibly honoured to capture life’s most precious moments, and Patrick and Meghan’s wedding was no exception. Their love story, which began in the halls of their high school in Ottawa, led them to this unforgettable day—a celebration filled with warmth, joy, and the undeniable magic of a love that has stood the test of time.

Patrick and Meghan envisioned a wedding that felt warm, beautiful, and filled with love—a space where their closest family and friends could be fully present, celebrating their marriage and simply enjoying the moment. They drew inspiration from carefully curated Pinterest boards and the sophisticated elegance of Kevin Love and Kate Bock’s wedding, blending editorial beauty with candid, heartfelt moments.

The result? A timeless and romantic affair at The Pearle Hotel, a venue that perfectly captured the essence of their love story.

Meghan began the morning surrounded by her bridesmaids, sipping champagne in cozy matching pj's. Laughter and excitement filled the air as they toasted to the day ahead. Her dad joined in for a special celebratory moment, creating memories they would all cherish forever.

Her bridal look was a perfect blend of classic elegance and meaningful personal touches. She wore a custom Lee Grebenau gown from Powder Bride, complete with delicate sleeves and an ivory lining. Her flowing tulle sleeve and blusher veil, inspired by Sofia Richie, framed her soft curls beautifully. Her bouquet, an elegant arrangement of white hydrangeas and roses, was adorned with embroidered tulle from her mother’s wedding dress—a sentimental detail that tied generations together.

Patrick, equally thoughtful in his details, wore a sleek tuxedo with their wedding date embroidered on the collar—a subtle but deeply meaningful touch. Both fathers sported custom-embroidered pocket squares, and Patrick surprised his groomsmen with matching polka-dot socks and bow ties, a fun nod to their bond.

Patrick had only one request for their wedding day—to see Meghan for the first time as she walked down the aisle. And when that moment finally arrived, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

“Seeing Meghan for the first time as she walked towards me—it was overwhelming. She looked stunning, and in that moment, everything else faded away,” Patrick later shared.

Their vows, written from the heart, added an intimate and deeply personal element to the ceremony. The minimalist backdrop, soft cascading florals of white hydrangeas and roses, and a golden glow from the candlelight created an ethereal, dreamlike setting—exactly what they had envisioned.

After the ceremony, we had decided to change things up and went for an urban-chic backdrop with a sleek city architecture. I love changing things up because it gives the couple a good amount of variety for their final wedding gallery.

Meghan’s flowing veil caught the light just perfectly, creating a stunning interplay between movement and stillness, while Patrick’s timeless tux added to the cinematic feel. The serene lakeside setting and modern architectural elements reflected the essence of their relationship—a perfect balance of romance and contemporary elegance.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, guests entered a reception space that was nothing short of breathtaking. The all-white decor, carefully curated to feel both ethereal and intimate, featured long tables draped in crisp linens, flanked by minimalist modern chairs. Tall, glowing candles added a romantic ambiance, flickering softly as guests settled in.

The sweetheart table was an absolute showstopper, adorned with cascading cloudlike floral arrangements that mirrored the ceremony’s design. Above them, delicate hanging installations resembling soft feathers completed the celestial aesthetic. Every detail, from the menu cards to the dance floor lighting, felt cohesive, intentional, and deeply personal.

When the newlyweds made their grand entrance, the energy in the room was electric. Every moment—from their heartfelt first dance to the lively speeches—was filled with warmth, love, and laughter.

Patrick and Meghan’s ultimate wish was for everyone to be fully present, celebrating love, life, and the beauty of the moment. And as the night unfolded—guests dancing, toasting, and sharing stories—it was clear that their vision had come to life in the most magical way.

Their wedding wasn’t just an event; it was an experience, a feeling, a memory that would last a lifetime. And as I packed up my camera at the end of the night, I knew one thing for certain—this was a love story I would never forget.

Bindia + Jonathan | Wedding at Graydon Hall Manor

There are couples you cross paths with once, and then there are couples who feel like they were meant to circle back into your life. Bindia and Jonathan are the latter. I first met Bindia at her sister’s wedding Sirini, where I was lucky enough to be the photographer. When I got the message that she was getting married and wanted me to photograph her own wedding day—I felt so honoured. This family is full of love, and capturing that love again for another big chapter was so special to me.

Bindia and Jonathan’s wedding day at Graydon Hall Manor was one of those unforgettable ones. You could feel the thought and care that went into every single detail—crafted not just for themselves, but for the 150 guests they invited to share their joy. This was not a wedding about being the center of attention. It was about giving everyone who attended a magical, heartfelt experience.

From the very beginning, this couple knew they wanted an outdoor ceremony and reception. Even before the pandemic made outdoor events more of a norm, this was their vision. And Graydon Hall Manor couldn’t have been a more perfect backdrop. The elegant gardens, the timeless architecture, and that romantic Toronto summer light—it all came together like it was made for them.

But what really mattered to them was the experience. They’re both major foodies, and the menu wasn’t just important—it was essential. Every course was thoughtfully curated in partnership with the venue, designed to flow beautifully from one to the next. And the bar? Oh, they knew exactly what they were doing. A premium open bar was their way of making sure people felt celebrated, relaxed, and ready to party after years of quarantine and isolation. And let me tell you—people did just that.

Every detail of the day felt personal and intentional. From the floral design to the way the tables were laid out, everything worked in harmony. The light during golden hour at Graydon Hall was pure magic, and we made the most of it with some romantic portraits tucked in the gardens. The photos from that set feel like a movie—soft, cinematic, and full of intimacy. Just the two of them, wrapped up in the moment.

But just as special were the photos of Bindia and Jonathan surrounded by their people—laughing with old friends, dancing under the stars, soaking in the joy of being together in one place. Those are the images that hold feeling, the kind you want to frame and relive again and again.

What made this wedding even more special for me was getting to witness Bindia again, now in her own spotlight. Watching her smile at Jonathan during the ceremony, hugging her sister (who introduced me to this beautiful family in the first place), and knowing how full-circle this all was—it was emotional in the best way.

To Bindia and Jonathan: thank you for inviting me into your story. Thank you for trusting me to capture your love, your people, and the celebration that felt like such a true reflection of who you are. Your wedding was elegant, joyful, and full of heart. Just like the two of you.
